Does Anything Piano show which fingers to use?
Last updated October 8, 2026
Yes, for many songs. Turn on Fingering in the piano roll menu and Anything Piano prints a finger number from 1 to 5 on each note, where 1 is your thumb and 5 is your little finger. Fingering is made for each song, including songs you bring yourself, but not every song has it yet, and it's shown only in the song's original key.
Turn fingering on
Open a song, open the piano roll menu, and tap Fingering. Finger numbers appear on the falling notes for both hands, and the setting stays on for the next songs you open.
If the Fingering toggle is dimmed
A dimmed toggle means this song has no fingering yet. Tapping it shows "No fingering for this song yet. We're adding it to more songs". Very advanced pieces may not get fingering for now, and some songs are still waiting for theirs.
If you've shifted the song's key
Finger numbers only fit the original key, so they're hidden while a song is shifted up or down. The app tells you "Fingering is available in the original key." Set the song back to its original key to see them again.
Reporting fingering that feels wrong
Fingering is suggested by a model, and a suggestion can be awkward for your hands. If a passage feels wrong, use Report a problem on the song and choose Wrong finger numbers, so we can improve it.
