The result is an interactive piano roll you can practice with while the app listens to your playing and gives real-time feedback on accuracy.

Simply Piano is built around a fixed catalog of pre-licensed songs and focuses on teaching you to read sheet music. Anything Piano has no catalog limit — bring any song you want and our AI generates the piano part from the audio. You learn by playing through a visual piano roll, not by reading notation.

How is Anything Piano different from Synthesia?

Synthesia requires you to provide a MIDI file or pick from its bundled MIDI library — if a song isn't already a MIDI, you can't learn it. Anything Piano generates MIDI directly from any audio: a pop song, a full-band recording, a YouTube link, or a solo piano piece. It also uses microphone-based audio detection to grade your playing, so it works on any piano — including acoustic instruments, no MIDI keyboard required.

Anything Piano is focused on piano practice — left hand, right hand, or both together. If you bring a song with other instruments — a full-band track, a vocal cover, anything — our AI creates a piano arrangement of it so you can still learn the song on piano. Beyond piano, our underlying music transcription supports many instruments (guitar, bass, drums, vocals, and more), so additional instrument-specific apps from Play Anything are planned.

Any song you have a recording of — a track you bought, a YouTube link, a TikTok clip, or your own recording. If the song is already a solo piano piece, Anything Piano transcribes it directly. If it's a pop track or full-band recording, we arrange it for piano. Either way, you get an interactive practice session.
