About Play Anything

Play Anything is a music AI lab dedicated to breaking down barriers to music learning, enabling anyone to play the songs that they love.

Our first product, Songscription, is the AI-powered "Shazam for sheet music" that turns any audio into sheet music, MIDI, or tabs in minutes. Our second product, Anything Piano, is an app that teaches you how to play any song on piano. Across our products, we've helped hundreds of thousands of musicians play, learn, and share their favorite songs.

We've raised a $5M seed led by Reach Capital and been covered in TechCrunch, Billboard, and MusicRadar. We're currently a small team, but we're moving fast to become a household name in music education.

Role description

We're hiring a Founding Social Media Lead to own our social media content and define our outward image across every social channel.

We want to be known as a fun, quirky brand (an accurate reflection of our team). Your job is to make videos, post on socials, plan events, or run with any other crazy idea you come up with to show the world who we are. You'll be in charge of both the ideation and the execution.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage our social media (TikTok, Insta, LinkedIn, X, etc)
  • Strategize what type of content we post, analyze the metrics, and pivot according to what is working
  • Grow and engage our community of musicians. This can include replying to comments and DMs, starting a Discord or Facebook group, and more!
  • Manage UGC campaigns or influencer partnerships
  • Host fun events in SF!

About you

  • Proven track record growing a social account (brand or personal) with content you made yourself
  • Strong short-form video skills: you can script, shoot, and edit a TikTok or Reel on your own
  • You're chronically online: you know what's trending, what's outdated, and everything in between
  • You're able to manage other people or find contractors to fill in your gaps
  • You're scrappy and think outside the box. We embrace crazy ideas and don't take ourselves too seriously
  • You're able to be both creative and data-driven
  • You have learned an instrument (either actively or in the past)
  • Based in San Francisco or willing to relocate
