# Why is importing from YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram temporarily unavailable?

Every so often, one of these platforms changes something on its side and importing stops working. When that happens, we switch the source off in the app rather than let your conversions fail, and we work to bring it back online as soon as possible.

## What you'll see in the app

If a source is unavailable, the app tells you directly. In a wider outage you'll see "Converting songs is temporarily unavailable" with a note that we're working on it. This affects new conversions only: every song already in **My songs** keeps working, and practice isn't touched.

## What you can do in the meantime

- **Try again soon.** Most outages are short. Your link will still work once the source is back.
- **Upload the audio instead.** If you have the song as a file (MP3, WAV, FLAC, or M4A), file upload is a separate path and usually keeps working when link imports are down.
- **Practice what you have.** Everything already converted stays fully playable.

## Why this happens at all

We pull audio from these platforms so we can transcribe it, but they can change how downloads work without warning. This is the one part of the pipeline that is not fully in our hands. When it breaks, we turn the source off and fix it as quickly as we can instead of letting your song fail halfway through.
